This is my second reply as the site crashed on my first one.

Yes, they split the task up. Like in pilot and copilot.

Also there are several receivers in the plane.

The unplugable parts like the wings with their own engines have their own radio systems.

The engines have synchronizers that keep all four engines in sync to suppress harmonic vibration.
