60cc class saw comparison
« on: September 02, 2011, 05:30:04 pm »
I have another small town saw race coming up and i was messing around with 4 saws. Trying to figure which to take for the 4 cube class. All were using the same chain except the 5000+. It had a more aggressive chain than the rest. The wood was dry and kinda hard 15'' round poplar. One cut times.
49cc ported 5000+ 7.08
Husky 365sp stock, muffler modded with new ring 7.35
Stihl 036pro stock, muff mod 7.29
ported Husky 357xp 7.25
and a ported (by me) Stihl 440 Just for fun. 5.61
ALL chain was oregon square grind. The 5000+ was the same but reground by Nate.  ;) ALL wearing 7 tooth sprockets & 3/8 chain.

Check the tune on your 357xp. That 357 ran with my fastest 5000 back in the day.  ;)

Also I would have liked to seen the comparison of the 70cc 440 to 75cc 375 . That would tell me more.

I will time the 372 but it will be a diff chain. I had the 357 barely 4stroking at WOT. As was all saws tested. I really had to push on that saw. Maybe a more aggressive chain on it will help?

Husqvarna PP375 timed at 4.30 with Stihl RSC chain and a 8 tooth sprocket.
