I had started back getting in the act of cutting firewood here. But then I bought my Logosol timber jig and I am now torn between splitting firewood or cutting lumber. I have 6 acres here but it has been so wet I have not been able to do either one. Will post some pictures when it dries up some.

That would be interesting please do.

The wood fence continues to grow.   Got a roof on the house now.

Looking better out there now. Not much to block the wind there in trees is there.

And there is always plenty of wind.

The air is generally dry and air conditioning is not common in homes.

You guys are correct.   No trees to block the wind and it is very dry.   The dryness causes my nose to bleed sometimes.

On the news last night they we're saying that Cheyenne Wyoming is ranked 3rd in the lower 48 for having the most wind.

But I really like the wide open space.

That dry air is something else out there.  I was stationed in Idaho during my Navy days.  (Sounds funny, I know but we had a training facility up there.)  But, the air was so dry my lips split open once in the winter.  I came back east in the summer and I shed dry skin like a snake for a week.   Firewood has to dry quickly.  I would think milling boards would be a challenge to keep the ends from checking to death.  Would take a lot of Anchorseal.

Went to the Mountains today to get some more beetle kill pine.  It was great today with mild temps.  I took the Poulan 335 predator.   I put a 3/8ths sprocket nose on that bar which used to be .325.   As you can see the saw works great.

I got some more free firewood today.  I believe it is American or Siberian Elm.

Here are a few pics of the upstairs wood stove and a small amount in the garage for winter.

Then the others are the downstairs wood stove and a small amount of wood in the basement next to the guitars.

I have a bunch of Chinese elm trees in the yard and it burns real good in the wood stove.

I don't know if it is related to that Siberian elm or not?
