It is good to be lucky but it fell in the right spot.  What is "barber chair"?  I've heard this a couple times in the last few weeks.

The trunk splits up the center for 10-15' and the back of the trunk that you have already cut kicks out and eventually up as the tree falls. The hinge point of the base of the trunk may be up in the air higher than you can reach? Then it is problematic getting the tree cut up.

Chances are a big old spar of an oak wouldn't do the splits .I
