What wood ?

What wood would have blood red center core?  Friend called said he thought per bark he was cutting a ash up. Said as he hit the center section his chips went red. Thought he had cuts something in the hollow section. But was solid he says.   ???

Some people call it ash leaf maple


It's not bad in afire. Is much better than willow or cotton wood.... almost as good as silver maple

Utilizing its decorative aspect of the red is its main value in furniture.

I sent him the BTU of it.

He said he will just mix it in as he cut 2 truck loads today.
