DexterDay have you got with fuzz1500 on a pick up date of the 6401 for a testing date?

I am still in the process of fixing the 6401.. Carb is giving me fits..

And to answer your question above, Yes, I still have some of the Cant leftover.   ;D

carb fits as in?   Is it air leaking around the carb body at throttle shaft?

No Stihl's, you need to run my 038 super in that mix.

Was trying to keep it at the 4ci cut off = 65cc. Only threw the 6700 out there because it was here.

Now I thought about that stihl 036 pro 62cc I had it was a runner. But then again we are just comparing 65cc.

no 562 Kevin, it would be the hands down winner, but this time it will be old school design, closed port 7 t poulan. Mufflers are way more open=10%
8x8 maybe 8t with the perfect operator but not 12x12.

Now port them all to the exact same compression.....would be a different story again

I've ran a demo stock 562 and it wouldnt hold a candle to the 415 I run cut for cut.  I just wasnt impressed with the one I ran, maybe something was wrong with it?

Ported saws comes down to who is doing the porting. Not the psi being the same.

Have to disagree Kevin...the internet porters are compression compression and more compression, 2pc heads and cut squish bands, blocking exhaust ports to change blowdown and timing.
Hogging out ports and transfers larger than a racesaw would need to drink a pint of 120/26 in 10 seconds.....
Will a 210PSI worksaw beat a worksaw at 170/80PSI? it should...excessive bearing and crank stresses and potential pre/detonation(boiling gas ) problems be damned.....Because I am a GTG king...HA!
We call it "just a shitty racesaw", let me block firewood with it in July at 50:1 for a month.
The secret, is to get a motor to "suck" "burn" and discard fuel in the most efficient manner with out over heating and without undue stresses on internal parts. One builder thinks 170 to 180 is max with todays fuel
A 2 stroke porter should have a temp gun in his toolbox.

As for the 562, it is the fastest 60cc saw ever made....in stock form its impressive once it has been reset, but ported, it is on the heels of a stock 390 with a 24 inch bar buried in hardwood..hows that for torque?
It has roughly 1500 tanks of fuel through it and the carb issues have been`worked out`but air leaks are a problem.
Perhaps some new gasketing and building QA is needed at the factory= $$$

Trying to remember this right.

solo 665 has  47mm bore   x 38mm stroke

dolmar makita  47mm bore x 37mm stroke

husky 48mm bore x 36mm stroke

poulan 48mm bore  x 36mm stroke

echo  I have no clue on bore stroke off hand or actual PHO weight. Paper specs say 13.9lb

now about stroke....yes stroke or inertia is an advantage, that's why bike motors are so efficient but they can afford to be bigger in size.Imagine carrying a bike motor around in the woods
Over the block advantage stroke....now cold start , there is a fine line between the .08 to the wood and what the motor RPM is...
090 suck for that reason...t   a  k  e   s  longer too  to hit the sweet spot.
An 880 or 3120 is more better

The solo looks good on paper, but I wonder if the tighter than tight muffler will hurt it

at least open the muffler  LOL....but I can see your point...

Kevin I`m scouring the boards looking for one of these `worksaws`and I`m going to put it on my buddies chainsaw powered Wallenstein firewood processor and I`m going to document `longevity``.
My Scottish blood is having a problem cutting the cheque though

My 415 has a big blocked off inside baffle with small hole through it at bottom and small exhaust exit on very top. All stock still.
I couldnt imagine the 681 being any worse.

IIRC the 665 muffler is pretty much like a 7900 just a diff. shape.

I waited long enough. You do know the 880 084 3120 have longer stroke then 090 stock I hope. Let alone stroking the 3120 880 like they do for racing.    ;)
