Dexter just ran and published videos of his stock Solo 665 against a ported 362CM. Neither saw was fully broken in yet but, there is no competing with torque. Have a look on FHC for videos and times. Not saying that there are no advantages to porting but know what you have and what gains you expect from your porting $$s.

Hard to beat the solo/dolmar port arrangement for a torquey saw.  You would be hard pressed to improve on them and keep power in the same to rpm range. When we did the 681 build off years back, all the saws ran unlimited coils and produced their power above the limited coil rpm.  All three saws were faster by a very small margin only to the stock 681.  For the time invested, it was a waste of time/energy for the minimal improvement....

Solo 665 takes down another woods ported saw stihl 362 c-m.  All of Dex info in the stihl thread above.

Dex times them from video.  Also stated 2.5 tanks through the 665  and 5-6 through the 362. So none are broken in. But the 362 is woods ported.

MS 362C-M
1- 6.8 sec
2- 6.1 sec
3- 6.2 sec

Solo 665
1- 6.2 sec
2- 5.7 sec
3- 5.5 sec

I know my 415 has out cut my 365 special saws in the past in testing.  So it sounds like the 665 may just be the 65cc under champ stock for stock.  I still think stroke will over take the bigger bore of same cc.

Tim didnt Dex say the broke in stock 562 with about 50 tanks through it cut in the 9-10 second range in same cant during his testing. Only thing it didnt use same chain as the other 2, but a woodsman pro.
