Only thing that still bothers me is parts if needed on the solo. Main reason I never jumped in on the last batch sold for $508 plus shipping.

That's why I don't want one. I know there a good running saw but there over hyped on forums.
The broke in 6400 I had to swap to a 7900 was faster than a 1 tank 665 with same b/c.

solo 681 IPL http://www.soloperusac.com/manuales/motosierra-681.pdf

I was running the part numbers again to see if you can find them.

Merged threads too, because the crank part number was found here in google search and cost. Good lucking buying one though.

@adam32  I know you bought a couple from last batch sold.

Where are you getting parts if they are needed?  Online parts I just ran was poor showing.

Mine are still new, I'm sending one off to AClarke this week.

I haven't had to look for parts yet so I guess I'll ride that horse when it shows up lol

Do these Solos use a differen't carb than the Dolmar/Makita versions?  IIRC, I remember reading somewhere that the Solo has a Walbro while the Dolmar has a Zama.

-Aaron

For older saws:
Tune the H side so that it 4-strokes (burbles) at WOT unloaded and just cleans up when under load.
When you lift cutting load, the saw should immediately revert to 4-stroking.  Fine tune the transition point for the wood you're cutting.

Can the Solo Walbro be easily swapped to the Dolmar.......and if so, is it a worthwhile swap?  I'm helping my friend with his Dolkita 6401.   His better half asked me what she could surprise him with for Christmas.  I directed her toward's the 7910 p/c set on Nate's site. 8)

I would think it's a direct swap. I,like the zama after poleman gets done with them.

I put the 372 xtorq carbs on them. A decent bit of work and the air filter is sideways a little after wards.
