I think they came out before that, seems to me I was selling them in the 80's. No chain brake on them back then. I could be mismemoreying. They are screaming little devils.  Chains sure are spendy.  I'm all the time cleaning out the screen in the carb.  When they get hard to start it seems to always be that.
