026 fixed oiler converted to adjustable oiler

        Has anyone here took a non-pro 026 and put a 026 pro adjustable oiler in its place?   Looks like there has to be a hole made on bottom of case to make it fit,  and to be able to adjust the output screw.  Anyone here done that successfully?  Thanks

Apparently so. Stihl offered a kit to change from the non adjustable oiler to the adjustable oiler

PN 1121 007 1043

I know my 026 with the non adjustable oiler has the hole in the case for the adjustable one.

I tried it once. The other problem is the adjustable oil pump clutch drum is thicker or taller then the non adjustable oil pump clutch drum. I think the non adjustable oil pumps work good.

 I got tired of messing with and never did figure out what else was needed to make it work. Clutch drum was always rubbing the oil pump.

Reason I'm asking is I have a 026 Pro that was smashed by a tree with a new OEM pump that was put in shortly before.  Now I'm building a non pro 026 with a bad pump and I just wanted to save myself 50-60 dollars.  Tried to make it work and noticed no access hole in bottom of case where the drum resides.  Must be a early 026 I guess.  Sounds like to me its going to be more trouble than its worth to convert it.  Only running a 16" bar/chain anyway and a Picco at that.  I'll just order the standard and be done with it.  I thank you all for your input. :)

It is more trouble than it's worth.  I did one won't EVER do it again.  Not to mention the cost.
