In the winter time it sometimes takes some 10w-30 or kerosene to get the pump started pumping.

Running below 20 degrees I just use 10w-30 motor oil in the bar oil tank anyway. It stihl pours like molasses.

Whatever, don't thin bar oil with gasoline. The resulting vapor pressure and flash point makes for a potentially dangerous explosive situation.
