Yeah you could knock it loose but you take the chance of harming the bearings .As a general  rule more times than not the seal that leaks would be on the clutch side .

If it were I unless it shows a tendency to run out lean after it's ran a tad bit I wouldn't get concerned about it .Seals don't usually go haywire all at once .You'll have a warning
