064 3/4 wrap options?
« on: December 30, 2013, 12:13:36 am »
Hi guys I picked up an old 064 and would like to add a 3/4 wrap handle. I've seen a few options on eBay but was wondering if the 064 share the same handle bars with the 066s? Madsens has decent priced wraps but only list them for the 066/660. I know the 066 and 064 share some part commonality and wonder if handles swap?

Thanks

The 3/4 part numbers are the same for the 064 and the 066

The madsens bars are good. They do bend easier though. I have the full wrap set on a 440 stihl and love em.
chainsaws are chainsaws but stihl runs through my veins

Madsens has a whole lot more then is what is list in there catalogue. If not listed you should try and give them a call, they might have it or can get it for you. Was at there store once a few years back. Very impressive to say the least.

The newer stihl handles are longer on the elbow part so they go lower almost like a full wrap. Not sure of the price of them though. I did get a 460 wrap handle for $110 new a month or so ago.

Keep in mind, some of the 3/4 wraps for the 064/ 066 required a different brake handle for hand clearance. I don't know the part number off the top of my head... But will most likely be an issue for you. Madsens will point you in the right direction, and may be able to get the other brake handle for you.
