Question. Will a ms660 fuel tank, cylinder cover, and air cleaner cover work on a 066 crankcase and cylinder?

Is it an old redlight style 066?  To put all the 066/660 newer covers on an old saw requires the new tank and all the carb cover pieces. If I remember correctly, there is one bolt hole for the hood that won't work with the old style case. Like I said, iirc.... I put never covers on one of my trashed redlights and remember something not lining up but it worked and function. You have to have the newer tank though and if buying them it isn't really cost effective to do the swap.

It was not originally a 066 red light was it Kevin? The handle is c-racked and i was thinking about changing it over to 660 covers. Thanks for your reply Freakingstang.

I'm not 100% on that one. Show him some pics. He would know. I dont think it was a red light. But it was a older one with smaller crankshaft bearings and metal flywheel.

Yeah thats the same case as a redlight. Most 064 early 066s didn't have the redlights but if it is an 064 case idk if the covers will work as they had a narrower case... I might still have some 066 parts kicking around too
