038 coil questions

I have a Stihl 038 Magnum with the old style coil.  It has the extra module that bolts to the coil.  Can I replace it with a later model coil, or does it have to be the same old style?  Should I get a newer flywheel and coil to match it?  Would they even bolt up where the old one was?  Thanks!

If anyone else needs to know the answer, it appears that the later model coil works for it.  I pulled one from a ms310 that met a crushing end and it fired right up.
