You may be right,we did not get 064's until after the 084's,how long I don't remember,almost 1 year later maybe in Northwest Canada.
The earlierest 064 at 14.1 lb.was the weight of what a 046 or MS460 is today. I think Stihl held them back from the PNW until they beefed them up. By the end of 1986 they were specced at 14.9 lbs and still climbing in 1987/88.
The 14.1 model was perfect for me logging on piecework running a 18"/20" b/c. with a 8 pin rim and I wasn't even running the dogs.
