You can certainly use 3/8" chain on it but really .404 would be better,i dunno about where you are but .058 .404 is easy to get here. Our shop used to rent an 090 with a 60" bar,but we had a helper handle mounted on the end of the bar.It was used to cut stacks of fresh cut lumber to length and stuff like that.Of course it was an enourmous sharpening job for whichever mechanic was given it,but we used (Like many others) skip tooth chain to lessen the job.
