How about orange on those and white or black top covers?

Agreed black they will be. Should pop pretty good. Plus I have a good bit of black paint. I will try and leave the embossed STIHL logos on the recoil and sprocket cover polished. And the rest black. Should look nice. Thanks for the recommondations.

Thought I would show a pic of the recoil bare mag. Just to see how it looks. Think it looks pretty good. What do you all think.

Nice job. Polish everything.

Some detailers use alcohol to remove wax. Something like PPG arcyli clean should work too. http://www.welleauto.com/index.php?page=shop.product_details&product_id=893&option=com_virtuemart&Itemid=57. Some automotive paint stores have wipes for removing grease and wax.

There are clear or slightly color tinted powder coatings that are made to go over polished surfaces.

One of the best looking things I've seen is a black tint over chrome. Makes for a very shinny surface that doesn't show dirt or water spots bad. So it was pretty maintenance free.

Think i may just use my brass wire wheel and then clear it.  the polished finish is nice but hard to get uniform with all the nooks and crannies. got the recoil and sprocket cover painted will post some pics when they dry.
