I would almost guess 20 thou higher deck would work .Of course if every thing else is on it would throw the ex port timing back some .Which isn't much of a problem,just raise the port some .Due to the fact it's an older cousin of the 038   series I would guess stock it's around 46 thou head deck /piston and around 20-22 degree down between the ex opening and the transfers .

You know like the 038 you cut around 22 thou more or less if you shave the cylinder bottom any way if you put a can of soup to one .

I have 2 048's but you don't hear much about them .It's been said at the time they came out they had the highest power to weight ratio of it's time period. One of mine needs rings ,the other a  clutch side seal .I have the parts just don't have the time to do it right now .
