The ones I've seen that got gouged up by carbon had plugged exhausts .The screen got gummed up .Now for me that's not a problem because as far as I know none of my saws have screens in them . ;)

It just boils down to "reading the plug " it tells the tale if you have it set right .

Running 32:1 I assume it's just a matter of setting the carb correctly, I kind of like the idea of 32:1 > More oil for lubrication, I've always run STIHL synthetic 50:1 No problems yet, I've never fried a saw, Knock on wood.

Many people run Stihl Utra at 50:1

That's a very good question! From what I heard is; friction is what does the break. So it would just take longer to break in. It would safe to say that, keep using the 100% synthetic oil & don't switch oils... I personally think to a little rich for several tanks, but probably not needed... Thanks!

My idea is that if you are going to be running Stihl Ultra at 50:1, run your chainsaw with that oil from the beginning.

On a new chainsaw, I like to have the mixture a little rich for the first couple tanks.
