So how many of you free hand your chain?  Once I have the angle set with a guide, I will then free hand for a few sharpenings.   If I question the angle or it does look right it or it was rocked dull, I put the guide back on.

What are you guys using for guides?
I have the husky roller guide and the Oregon guide that clamps on the file.  My best work is when the chain is in a vice v. on the saw.

Chain off the saw, in the bench vise, STIHL file guide.

Most of the time I free hand .I do however use an Oregon file guide every so often just to make certain all the angles are still in order. They do get off a little bit from time to time .

The co-worker got all the goody out of the spur sprocket?

Apparently he doesn't work on his own chainsaw?

No he doesn't. His fuel filter was in the tank.....just wasn't attached to the end of the filter!
Sad part is......this saw was at the dealership a few months prior for the "wont run" issue.
They told him they "fixed" it.

Invoice dated 8-14-13 still has not been paid!!

I need a deposit from now on I guess  >:(
