Damn, yeah you need to get some good quality bits then.

Heck, just drop buy your local Stihl dealer and pay him $10 to knock them loose.

I just had the same sort of problem with a ms660 clutch  no matter what I did, even a 1/2 inch air gun would not break it loose. Then I remembered something my father taught me. I set the gun to tighten the clutch ( yes I know it is reverse thread ). One or two burps then set it to remove the clutch and burp burp and it came right off. It has something to do with breaking the thread contact area down by tightening the fastener.

yes, knocking it into any movement can work, but the saw in question utilizes more or less a self tapping fastener, so that
is something to keep in mind....

Place your torx in the screw and smack your torx with a hammer a couple sharp raps. Then it will loosen. Works every time for me.

Wiha of Germany makes some sturdy tools that I doubt you could twist off .

Heat gun the top alum conducts. And it's connected to the bottom.  PB blaster and a Milwaukee cordless impact have done it for me. Is the screw head super clean?

I use the t-handle wiha and never have a problem, even the loctited ones come out easy. only thing I ever had a problem on was a fried 660 clutch and it took the big half inch air impact to get er off after I torched the clutch a little

That's good you got them out & can continue with the work needed.  Out of the several Stihl saws I've taken apart with the engine mounting bolts on the bottom I've always been able to use a scrench that comes with the saw.
