carb adjustment MS 192 TC?
« on: April 30, 2015, 01:49:00 pm »
Is there no way to reposition the carb high speed screw limiter. I have it up against the stop but it is still rev'ing to high 14,000. I know I can trim the plastic down on the screw but it is a fairly new saw I don't want to void warranty , it's not my saw..

If it is under warranty I would take it to the dealer and have them retune. You can slide the limiter off the screw and richen up and then slide the limiter back down. You may need to remove the carb to get the limiter slide up on the screw.

I couldn't figure out how to slide the limiters off so screw it I ground the plastic limiter hump off with a dremel. I had to give it almost a full turn out to finally get rpm to come down to 13,500. it seems to run good now. I don't think it was ever set up right he bought it from a big box store.

Don't think Stihl comes from a big box store. Glad you got it tuned in.

Around here they sell stihl at the big farm store, close to a big box store imo.

Yep there is some big  farm store chains that sell stihl that I consider big box country stores.

Thinking last ad I seen for stihls in a flyer for one was down south toward Missouri and up toward Minnesota.  (not sure on states)

Bailey's mail order sells Stihl parts and they are not a Stihl dealer. There are Stihl dealers that sell to Bailey's and they mark the prices up.

There's a Kabuta dealer in town that sells Stihl. They have several locations in central Ohio. The location in this city is not the official Stihl location. They have a guy that works on Kabuta's who I'm sure can do at least minor things to a Stihl. I've ordered parts from them but the parts go to the actual Stihl location and the parts have to wait until someone brings them up to this city. There's a John Deere dealer 1/4 mile away and they sell Stihl too.

The local TSC store sells Jonsered and to my knowledge, they don't work on anything?
