Jeff, if you want a good 3 cube find a used German 026 and pull the gasket. It will match anything you are used to.

Was $475 including tax?

and delivered...

That's why I was thinking of stepping up to a NE 346 Art, I'm hoping its nothing I wouldn't be able to handle..LOL..

I just like a light nimble saw with a 16 inch bar while I'm balancing on wobbly logs cutting shoulder height. If I hit the dirt I need to throw it quick.

Unless a miracle happens I'll be 3 cu -less at the race.

I have a stock  ;)  Redmax EHP 5000 that is just setting on the shelf. 100% work saw I traded with Art on once that can turn in a heck of a 8x8 time with a operator.

4.86 3 cuts over wood 8x8 aspen at last racing gtg I had. NO race chain either, just a square machine chain.

cutting 10x9 year old dried out cant at the winter GTG.

1 cut  top 4 saws

Partner 5000 big carb 2.50 race ported
Husky 346 big carb 2.86
Stihl 260 big carb  2.98
Redmax 5000 small stock carb 3.03

Cut4 fun that sounds like a decent little saw, I know Ed used to swap 357 carbs into 346 but now drills out the stock carb with venturi work and gets the same results.Primer bulb and all...I spose 260 has 044 carb
Funny, he never talks about that redmax.
I think that 346 at 2.86 is as fast as I would want to go with a 2000 tank goal.
if parts were available I'd be all over that Redmax.
Thanks for the info...

5000/500 jug and a Husky 50  closed port jug?
the 5000/500 are those "special" ones you talk of correct?

It's all in the partner section with pics of some. I'll try and make short and sweet.

500 open port big cc 44mm

500 formula  open not as big cc 45mm

5000 open 44mm

5000 plus closed 44mm  the pistons are getting hard to find, full circle windowed .

50 I thought 50 was open and big cc. I dont own one to know for sure.

Partner 7700 is like the Jonsered 2077 and Poulan 475 from what I have read. If the Partner 7700 goes up for sale or trade let me know. I really like that shade of yellow.  ;D

I would not recommend running .058 chain in a .063 bar and I have never seen a Stihl mount .058 bar. What you could try is running .058 chain in a worn out .050 bar. Or buy the correct chain.
