No this is for work.... I have lots of 73lg and I'm thinking if I end up with a 261, I would sure like to run all the same chain.

I 'll maybe have to post a classified trying to purchase worn out 50 bars.. ;D

They don't make it easy do they.

What link count is your 73? I can swap 72 for 73 no problem.

Broke the 72 lgx on the 261 today. Had a .325 bar/chain in the porter for backup. Not the way to go with a 261. This saw loves 3/8 chain, so did the 5100.

My current link count is about 1200.I can turn it into anything you like though.
I would prefer a 16 inch bar in this format, and yes my 5100 loved 3/8ths chain,
so a 50 gauge bar will take 58 no problem?
what brand name of bar? whats the DL count.
slowly but surely I'm eating away at the pile

I spose with enough throttle you can get anything to spin ;D

Been having trouble with Oregon 3/8 lately. Chain side straps are breaking 1 or 2 tanks in. I prefer to run Windsor 3/8 chain. It is Oregon cutter on Windsor chassis. Windsor SpeedTip is a better bar than Oregon PowerMatch also.

Jeff, if you spend the most of your time doing firewood, stick to the 5100/5105. IMO its a better firewood only saw. 261 shines in softwood logging. Higher cutting rpm. Never liked the 5100 for spruce.

I have a idea for you Jeff on a 058 bar for a stihl.

Only thing he only has 18" and bigger in stock right now. The bar comes in stihl mount 058 3/8 and has spacers to fit husky and other saws.  ;)
