A little smaller, but should work ok.  My fs90 works great with the chainsaw head slapped on it.

been a little debate on these pole saws lately and conclusion I came to from my reading is that the pole and head is better on the echo stuff. echo stuff is a bit more aggravating to work on as they don't know how to standardize their fasteners. I have a ht101 in the shop right now with a bent shaft that is still on its first tank of fuel. $300 for new assy. they aren't going to fix it. just run it and put up with vibration till it dies and buy another new one

To many parts for me.

I think if you look at stihls new offerings they have swung back to 2 strokes.  Yippee.

Thank god!  So frustrated with these things.  Anyone know which other FS series two stroke power heads will work on these ht131's.

I just got one of these saws pole saws. Maybe I should pull it apart and retrofit some split lock keepers and proper retainers into it?

Also locating the rocker off the valve like that causes a lot of side load issues. Locating off the fulcrum is best, push rod second, valve... last choice.

Yep!! Poor design IMO. Also, the valve retainer is so thin and extremely hard, I wonder the heat treat in conjunction with work hardening is part of the cracking issue?
