Huztl 660 kit saw
« on: June 07, 2017, 01:30:52 pm »
I ordered one of these a few days ago and it's not even shipped yet and I think I allready regret it. Anyone bought one lately that has anything good or bad to say.

I been looking an asking around for a big saw for a while now and I think a 290 is considered big around here, plenty of them and late model Poulans

This guy has put together several of these. After watching this video, go to his channel and look at the other Farmer tec/Huztl Stihl 660 variations he has done. You should be pleased with your purchase.

I got the kit saw, put it together without the cylinder base gasket, I didn't like the looks of it, looked like it might leak, anyway it runs good. I finished up a log I had started and sliced out a couple of 6x6x8 post for a friend. A lot more power than the 039 and 038s. I think I will get a base gasket from stihl hoping to lower the compression some. Maybe it'll make it a little easier pullen for these 60yr old arms.

I ordered another one of these 660  kits Sunday 18th, (it was on sale, $216.09 with shippin) thinking putting it together with the 56mm jug and piston, using base gasket. My thinking is a little lower compression and  RPM but torque instead. It's all for fun anywho, I'm just being as active as can be before I get to old an can't.
Thanks for listening,
Dave J.

Any thoughts on them big bore kits for the 660?
