IMO you can clean the transfer and scuffs up in the cylinder.  Making sure none of the scuffing is through the plating. Use a pick or fingernail to try and make sure not gouged.

Also looks like ring caught in the opening and did some damage. Would need to fix the bevel etc back.
 
Piston IMO toast. New piston kit min.   If all wont clean up might be time for a p+c kit.   

Is this that freebie salvage find?  You will want to find out way it did this in the first place before thrown another topend on it. JMO

Is this the 441?
