stihl031 no spark

A mate has a couple of the 031 with what we believe are dead coils and the coils are hard to come by   His question to me yesterday as he had the 031 32 handbooks out was If he fitted the flywheel and coil etc from the 032 which are easier to find would it work, I have no idea anyone got some fixes for this problem

The problem is usually the condenser and not the coil

If you change to 032 parts, you need the coil as well as the flywheel

The 032 flywheel will fit but the starter won't match up it is completey different more like the 028. the best solution is to fit the WIMA capacitor in place of the condenser. 031 Electronic fit the Stihl/Kawasaki one wire trigger and disconnect the under flywheel trigger. I have been through many of the031/032 and not a bad coil yet.
