Ms 660 clutch side bearing
« on: September 17, 2015, 08:29:05 pm »
Got checking the bottom end. And found some play on the pto side. Thought it was just dust going through it as the filter was wasted. But that was not it. When splitting the case the pto side case just fell off after the screws and pins were out. Come to find out the crank was spinning in the inner race of the bearing. And that is where the play was coming from. What do you think would have caused that? A mis made bearing?

Seems a lot of them had that problem. Don't really know what causes it. I had 1of 3 a whole back that did that.

Usually the older metal flywheel saws had more of it.

Seems odd. Just glad it was caught before it messed up the crank.
