Thanks Magnum for the downloads and thanks jm for the tips on the oiler. I will try and get at it sometime this weekend.

Dang, you guys are good....

If the o.p. just did the ole tank rinse/run with solvent/gas mix, he probably would have been up and running by now.

If this guy cannot handle the av mounts, I seriously doubt that he will have much success with pulling and re-installing the oiler.

I have worked on this junk for a long time, and rarely is that little stick pump at fault.....

Fish,
Thanks for the tip on the tank flush. I guess i"ll try that the next time. I want to replace the stick pump now, because I have it all apart. I just had to replace the "little stick pump" on my husky and now it all works well, so I'm guessing that if it is not expensive it is stupid not to. I feel that I'm fairly well mechanically inclined, however as you stated those av mounts did me in. Hopefully next time it'll go better.
JM, it took a bit, but now I understand the tips on removing the oiler. Thanks a bunch

Randy

You are right FISH very easy to miss and over think things,  start with the simple things and move on from there.

Yeah, I just sold a new crankcase with the oiler on e-bay, for less than Stihl sells the whole oiler.  I won't be tearing one down for a bit, too much going on right now.

Got a new over size pump and replaced. Installed the AV mounts. Filled with gas and oil and all works well. Thanks for all the help.
