Thanks Adarondack , My guess also at this point. There is nothing else left as far as I can see. Wish I had checked when I had engine out of the old case before I put it all back together. This saw has so little time on it that I never even gave it a second thought.

 Oh well , too late now to change that. Going to give it a break for a couple days and then get back at it.

Thanks to everyone here for all the help and suggestions. I will post an update when I get it straightened out , hope it might help the next guy with a simalar problem.
