Ms200 C1Q-S126B carb troubles
« on: March 09, 2017, 09:45:17 pm »
Anyone else having trouble keeping a zama C1Q running right on there ms200. I have two ms200s and one 020t all running the same C1Q-126B. I'm down to one running right and each saw will run just fine on that carb. I go through these carbs and replace diaphragm etc, but no luck run like Sh!!. Been having trouble for a few years. I bought a new C1Q from baileys in 2015 and it didn't make it through 2016.

Today I put a cheap no name brand 15 dollar carb on one ms200 and she ran pretty good only ran 20 min. Run more tomorrow.

1 yr is about all you get of those carbs with heavy use. try rebuilding the accelerator pump...kit for it from stihl is around $12 but i wouldnt hold my breath on that curing it, the brass plunger galls up the aluminum bore and rebuilding it with a new plunger/oring is at best a temporary fix.

you can try eliminating the accel pump like Jack suggested. I had about a 50% success rate with doing that so in my case i decided it wasnt worth doing, the comebacks and lost billable labor time wasnt worth saving 50% of the customers some money while at the same time pissing off the other 50% because their saw wasnt fixed. Same mentality applies to the pump rebuild, i had about the same success rate so we just replace the carbs and move on knowing the problem is solved.

Thanks for the input advice guys I pulled the acc. Pump out of one yesterday for the first time and yes worn pretty bad think that is the problem I'm having they run very inconsistent like an air leak. I can see were pluging the cuircut with silicon could work. For 15 bucks I ordered 2 more knock off carbs I'll give them a shot. thanks a bunch these little devil carbs can drive me nuts!

chinese carbs are hit or miss...mostly they work and get the job done. be aware every china carb i have tried didnt have the accelerator pump, which you would think would be a good thing, but because of that they required the L to be richened up so much its hard to get them to idle for any length of time without loading up. the acceleration is also off a bit, both issues are easy to live with but something to keep in mind if you want to leave the saw running for 3-4 minutes in between cuts and expect it to accelerate smoothly when you pick it up to go again. I dont know which carbs i used, just ordered randomly off ebay and probably never used the same person so hard to say if they are all like that.

I figured the Chinese carb had no accl. Pump since there is no brass plug were the C1Q plunger goes just has casting. I ordered a zama C1Q-s16a carb off e-bay I'll give that a shot to. I love the 020t and ms200s by far my favorite saws and most used. I don't idle any two stroke for more then a minute never seemed right to me there not built for it. I constantly start and stop my ms200 between cuts there so easy to start plus I've cut my self twice with a saw and figure one that isn't running is much less likely to jump up and bite. Long live the 200 such a nice saw.

What about the carb that was on the 020T before renaming to 200T.  Remember @Al Smith saying something about a different carb and maybe it didnt have the acc pump?

I like how the accelerator pump carbs run so i jsut stick with them. Figure a carb every 2 yrs is just the cost of running a 200T. Oddly enough, never occurred to me to use the 020 carb but when rebuilding 200's thats the cylinder i use.
