I'm cursed. Every homeowner must have a 290. Another one came in today for the muffler mod and carb re tune.

I have found that when you start to remove the nuts, if they start to get tight on the threads and rust go back the other way. Like you are tightening them. With a little kroil or blaster for some lube. And just keep working them back and forth. It takes some time but worth it.

I tried this today while making chain loops up.

Sprayed PB loosen little starts to get tight, spray walk away. Come back loosen little spray and loosen little more, spray walk away. It took awhile but I finally got all 3 off without taking off threads or breaking a bolt. This is only the 2nd 290 310 390 I have gotten all 3 off of.

The 029 is one of their most popular saws

I've usually had to "work" the nuts off by going back & forth with em & a lil penetrating fluid.  I've broke a couple out of the many that have come through.  Only cause I was impatient.

Just put copper never seize on the nuts and DON'T over  tighten them Breakage is common in coastal areas. The standard never seize is not adequately heat -resistant,so go with the copper.
