Yes, I always use multiple punctuation points for drama...........

Little did I know that it would turn me into a smiley user...........................

I have enough bad habits already...

Nah, it is all good, I just will deal with my occasional illegitimate offspring as they show up on my doorstep.  And be more careful
where I put my question marks........

Why do I want to check the right side? Because that's what a utube video said to do. I assume it is all right since the left one looks ok but you never know. I'd rather do that then take the cylinder head off and ruin the gasket and find out that wasn't the problem. I will take the snap ring off. It won't idle or looses power when cutting. It runs erratically. Thanks.

Wow...

You don't really test seals by looking at them, well yeah a real blown one would be pretty obvious...

Your problems are likely elsewhere, and you tube doesn't make the advice good.......

But to be fair to everyone involved, you might start from the beginning, before you started listening to "youtube"....

YouTube is great to look stuff up on. .. if you already know the basics of what your trying to do.  Looking at a seal doesn't usually get you anywhere.  Start from the beginning and explain your problem and what you have checked/tested.

you're not going to see this unless you pull the seal:

you do need to pull that cover in order to see any leakage while doing a pressure/vac test.

BB, nice neat screw hole you drilled to pull the seal! I have seen just recently where a guy didn't do such a good job and plowed a nice channel in the case lip when pulling the seal! :'(

I don't drill the hole. I let the drywall screw open it's own hole ;)

I'm always open to suggestions. A mechanic and I came to the same conclusion that it isn't a carb problem. He thought it was an air leak and to check the cylinder head gasket if I didn't get it sold. Like I said before, it won't idle or get full power when cutting. Several people online said the same thing only most leaned towards the seals.  Bob
