Thought of ole Al on this saw. New stihl 381

Stihl MS381

Just had to share some pics from Robin Wood from Malaysia.

He is the one that shipped the new echo 1201 to Lee.   He is setting up to ship to us in the USA if you are really wanting the old school saws.

Also has new stihl 070 MS720 saws

070/ms720 (36" hard nose b&c)

I had a brand new MS381 in my hands at a Mexico dealership while on vacation last winter. Could have signed the deal with a little over $500 US in my pocket, but the dealer had all his new saws on display fully fueled up.
...............I wasn't going to risk leaving a paid for new saw with the smell of gas on it behind at the Puerto Vallarta airport customs.
Great looking upgraded 038.

Now that I think of it. It was a little over $600US without b/c, not $500. Easy to get lost in the translation in Mexico converting pesos etc.  :D

About 10 years ago I had a call looking for an 070. "You want a WHAT???" I had not seen one since the mid 70's. A call to our rep confirmed they were still being made for the mahogany loggers in south east Asia. My customer wanted one as carry on luggage as that would be a lot cheaper than buying locally.
