I bought a couple more 462 arctics last week, they seem to run pretty good and muffler started turning purple in 3 tanks which is alot faster than the first 462 I had , handle bars get warm but not hot but saw is nice and light , Been using it on the landing bucking trees up

Trevor Saville this was changed April 2021 at Serial 190015190 ... the current 4 we have are new versions. No issues so far on the fires I've been on. Haven't been keeping up on changes as much 🔥 season/life has been crazy.

These cylinder changes bring it in line with the crankcase changes. Their was enough feedback from western fallers they intend them to be able to run 36" bars... I personally just keep a 28" Duralite/ES Light on them.

stihl 462 design change update with serial number and month above from chainsaw repair group FB.

cut alot of bigger hardwood with this 462 arctic , it seems to be a pretty good saw and runs good but you got to keep the chain sharp , not new chain out of the box sharp I mean sharp , I hate a new stihl chain to fall timber with , before a new chain ever sees its first tree it gets a real work over , sure on the landing bucking there fine cause in this sand its not going to be sharp very long
