Stihl 046 ?
« on: May 27, 2017, 02:35:24 pm »
Anyone have experience with stihl 046 Magnum that has no spark, replaced plug, ignition coil with Stens 600 – 231 which is the proper replacement for 1122 400 1314, still have no spark. Is it possible that the flywheel magnets have gone bad?, If so is there any test that can be done. Dennis Dvorak

If a screw driver will stick to the magnets pretty good then I would say they are ok.    Also what did you set the air gap at.

I would also take the kill switch wire off of the coil to eliminate it shorting somewhere that is not seen.
