Stihl small spline rim. Can't take credit for the chain.

I was checking the chain out for what was done to it too.

So far, I have not made the rakers short like that.  The old Oregon chain from 40 years ago did have short rakers but then they got into liability mode and extended the rakers and put the bulge on the front for kick back purposes.

Is that the Stihl small spline hub?
I have a brand new Stihl 8 Tooth Picco rim in small 7 spline, it's slightly larger in diameter then a standard 3/8 8T rim.
I can see this 261 running my Picco rim with the new PS3 Picco chisel chain in the small 8"X8"s.

Well you never know what's on a saw where someone has some saw parts to try out.

I have a Husqvarna 346XP NE and it has a large spline rim. Looks factory but the hub came from a 357XP.

If I remember correctly my first 034 came with a small 7 spline rim then years later the 036 became standard 7.

Good luck. In this area ps3 will not clear the chips fast enough.

I didn't think it would, just wanted to try it. For me regular 3/8 is the best chain.

I have a 026 that is ported with regular 3/8" X 16" that I use as a limbing saw. It is a sweetheart in that capacity.

I tried out a OE 346 woods ported 46cc with stock 63PS   and it seemed fine for limbing and small bucking.

I did wonder about the chip clearance issues on a fast saw and square filed PS chain in timed cuts.

Thanks for testing info stihlbro.
