stihl 08s quits

starts up fine but bogs out and quits after 2 or 3 minutes let it sit for 15 minutes and it starts and does the same thing

thats what i'm thinkin how do i tell still have spark when it quits

pull out the spark plug and hold it against the metal crankcase and pull the cord while the engine is hot.

The cord will pull easy because of no compression.

Don't do this out in the sun for the spark will not be noticeable.

You could also use an inline tester and see if the spark falters when it starts to act up. First thing I would do is pull the muffler and inspect the piston, dmage from over heating could cause tis problem.

Crank seals can sometimes open up when hot and change the fuel mixture
