Stihl MS 310 low power
« on: October 28, 2013, 06:26:38 pm »
Hi all, new member here, hoping to get some help with my ms 310
Never had a any issues till today.  I was cutting for about 15 minuts when the saw stopped running well above 1/2 throttle.   I cleaned the plug, air filter, checked the carb adjustment and put in fresh fuel to no avail.  The saw starts and idles fine and runs good till about 1/2 throttle and then acts like it is starved for fuel.  I then ran it with out the air filter and noticed that when I give full throttle there is fuel spitting back out the carb.  That can't be good.  Do these saws have reed valves?  Ideas?
Thanks
Matt

Did you check the muffler spark screen?

Take off your air filter and inspect the fuel line, move it around with your fingers, look for cracks in the rubber.  If you find some,
replace the fuel line and go through the carb, as there will be crud in there too...
