Shelby Stanga's Stihl 880
« on: July 28, 2013, 12:02:54 am »
Anybody ever wonder what Stihl Shelby Stanga was using? I found a picture of him with a nice 880 over his shoulder . . .

But then you wonder about the bar and chain? Looks like 440 and at least 36"?

I would be willing to guess that there are more than one Stihl used in the shows? This picture has another size Stihl as it has more like a 660 starter cover? Take note of the rusty chain?

Some of them are treated pretty rough. Cutting under muddy water couldn't be good for a chainsaw.

Is the last pic from swamp people ?

Yes, and the guy on the right, Mitch, had a hart attack in May of 2012 and passed away.

Shelby Stanga lives close to the North central shore of lake Pontchartrain at a place called Lee's Landing near Ponchatoula, LA. that is North of New Orleans.

The two brothers, Glenn and Mitchell Guist, live(d) West of New Orleans and South of Baton Rouge, LA at Belle River, LA.'
'
The two areas are some 133 driving miles apart but are closer straight line distance.
