Chainsaw Repair

 Hi, I am new here. This looks like a great website for chainsaw information. I want to know the best place to mount an electronic module that is replacing the points. My brother gave me this saw, it was not used very much since new. The points were badly pitted and it spit out gas. I rebuilt the carburetor and replaced the oil and gas tank gasket and cleaned everything. I replaced the fuel line and filter. Does anyone have a picture showing their module mounted and the wire route? This saw was made in Germany and it looks very well built. Any help is greatly appreciated. Jeff in east Texas

Hi 660 magnum, thanks for the reply. My saw originally had points. I saw they were not made anymore so I bought the electronic module to replace the points. I took the old points out. I am trying to see where others have mounted the aftermarket module. thanks Jeffery

I can't even see how to log out of here, could be because of the writing on the same color backgroung wood  and leaves. LOL echo echo echo

The Stihl made module and bracket fits nicely bolted on one of the legs of the coil angled diagonally upward, the aftermarket ones, not as much luck plus the most of them are different and won't work.
