Stihl 025 builder
« on: April 13, 2015, 09:02:04 am »
Know the guy that bought it new, scored it somehow. Looking like straight gassed to me, but just a guess.  Then he set it in a storage shed at his house for many years to be parts to the other 025 he bought.

Missing clutch cover and front muffler deflector, that I could tell with quick look over. Maybe some kind of muffler mod at exhaust exit on front cover.  Havent looked under AF cover yet. Just looks grungy from being in the shed. I havent wiped nothing off.

Piston in 2nd pic scored.

$40 and shipping.

That early flat air filter is hard to come by? The current ones set in a 90 degree adapter and all you see is what looks like a small loaf of bread for a filter.

That's the airfilter they sell now. There were two different ones before that one. One is flat and fastens up against the carb with those aluminum barrel screws. And the very first one fastened in the cover.

There's no reason you cannot use the present day filter. But if there is nothing at all on the carb, you will have to buy the 90 degree elbow too which HLS also sells.

You get a lot more RPM with that nylon mesh filter than with the flocked version that HLS sells.

Jim this 025 has the 90 degree and uses newer filter.  So did the other 025 he had.  So must not be that old of a 025.
