Have an 026 that is hard to start once it is cold. Once you get it started it runs as it should. Trying to help local dealer on this one. They replaced the carb and sent it out. Came back and would not run. Got looking at the saw and  noticed the coil gap was wrong. Light marks on the flywheel. Set the gap to .020 and still no easier to start. Just looking to see what you guys think.  The saw will start on one pull after you get the saw to start. Could it be a leaking impulse hose?

Is it getting good spark when it is cold? Something is expanding when hot and shrinking when cold or moving around with the heat/cool cycle. Could be the pulse line or perhaps a kink in the fuel line that when warm is soft enough that it does not impact fuel flow. You could probably get a good idea by squirting a little fuel into the carburetor when cold and see if it starts right up.

The typical coil gap used on most saws is .012"

Also these saws are notorious for a fuel line leak in the sharp bends

You are right on the coil gap. Will have to pressure check the fuel line. Seems like all roads are heading to a fuel delivery issue.
