I had to kind of laugh a little bit at Chardon when Cliff in his usual way said out the clear blue "my that thing has a long intake " .Now how in the world he could tell   by the sound I'll never know but he could . ???

About the only thing I tell my sound alone is if the the thing is extremely high ported on the exhaust .

9am morning pick and had to wait 2hrs to go pick it up. Finally now I can build one for the guy looking instead of having to have one shipped in.

stihl 026 red lever saw pho. Dont appear to be the pro. But no biggie.

So digging in first thing I notice is a decomp plug. Least it is stihl oem cylinder and piston. Bad the piston got scored on exhaust side. Not bad enought to stick rings even. Cylinder will clean up easy.

Stihl have a decomp 44mm cylinder? I think I remember yes to this but want to make sure. Because using my calibers just hair under 44mm piston. Just trying to make sure.

Oh H side was only 1/2 turn out and plug white grey LOL L close to the same. smh

For $29 you get a piston you can trust.  $12 worth of rings you dont have to replace like on the cheaper pistons (so time and $ saved right there IMHO).
I wont run the other aftermarket rings unless in my own test saw. OEM or caber rings for me only.
Even the circlips in this kit looks and feel tension etc like oem.  Wrist pin is heavy compared to oem. I usually use oem pins if they fit right.
I will have no problem backing this piston kit up for new owner. Could I feel that way with a cheaper one = nope.
Peace of mind - PRICELESS ;)

New ball hone arrived too.

Pics of clean up by hand of cylinder with emery cloth and flapper wheel used too. You can still see the scoring where aluminum was. But smooth as can be running fingernail across.

Oh more info = I was unable to use the OEM wrist pin in this one. Was just hair to long. So had to use the heavier meteor one. These circlips looked and felt like the oem ones. So used theirs.

 Bar came in today. Went with 18" 325 050 74dl. Being I wanted 16" 325 050 67dl. But 16" was harder to find and didnt want 063.

Was test cutting in ash and the carb IMO was acting funky. So took back in and put a kit in it. Good to go now.   8)
