I took a 026 topend in trade Art and it has the same troubles your 158 has without gasket.

Setting here waiting on a gasket because it wont turn over  without a gasket and it needs .5mm oem thickness to clear.  Somebody had put a lump in the middle of the piston and cut the cylinder so it could run a oem .5 gasket.   8)
