Stihl 026 260
« on: February 25, 2011, 05:14:13 pm »
Took this 026 pro in on trade then found a rollernose bar for it. Bar spoke for already.

Is there different air filter types for these?

This is only the 2nd one I have taken in and the first one was sold before i even got a piston put in it.

Crappy cell phone pic.

I don't know all the particulars, but the filter was improved along the way.  I believe there were accompanying plastic and tank vent changes as well.

You have the newest of the Stihl 260 filters. 2 types, nylon and felt winter one. I always used nylon.

I always changed out the com carb for non comp older carbs. We have running issues with comp carbs. I just stuck a foam ear plug in the filters comp tube hole. Worked great.

Have alot of new 260 nylon ones if you need one.

That 026 looks to be pulling the 3/8 chain real well.

Al I just ordered a new 16" 325 bar and have 2 rm2 work chains for this one.  I'm just using it to cut firewood with when needed.  It's on the trading block too, just like the others.  ;)

You would want a new cylinder and piston if you were going to build a 3ci gtg saw or racesaw IMHO. The exhaust is just a tad to high on this one.
