Getting fuel to plug?  Have you tried squirting mix through carb with filter off to see?

Have you done the basics?  Check impulse line from carb to crankcase or cylinder.  Checked fuel line and filter. etc etc

How long has it been since the 260 was replaced? One just dropped off that is sweet looking like new and still has the case sticker.

Maybe next time I can talk the owner into a muffler mod to wake it up a bit, other wise sweet little saw. 18" 325 set up. Getting it ready to head to WV.

Forgot pics. Tomorrow maybe.

When owner picked saw up he said he bought it about 10 years ago.

Outfitted with oregon LPX 325 chain now.  Still impressed with that chain since chain build off.

i believe the filters are different between the 026 and ms260.
i believe its something to do with the high tank breather on the 026.
you should be able to use a 026 filter on a 260 not not vice versa. same applies to the fuel tanks.
you need the matching breather plus the relevant fuel caps. 260 has flippy caps
Speculate to accumilate

I have a starting issue with an  024S that I upgraded to a 026 via Huztl.  It is very hard to start but once started runs well.  I feel that it may not be getting a good impulse to pull fuel. Plug is dry not wet.
I thought that the metering lever might be set a little low so I raised that a little with no difference.  Put a new plug in and it fired off, but it had been running and the next day no go.

It's a bit of work to replace the impulse tube so I would be happy to hear any options to try first.
Many thanks

When ordering from stihl oem cylinders.  Check them. Here is what a guy just received to fix the 260.
