Jody put a aftermarket piston in one a few months back, it was a super, but the connecting rod was not solid and had bushing around the wristpin bearing and the center of the rod was slotted. Never seen that before. I know you can swap cylinders around, but you have to watch what style muffler comes on the saw.

They all will interchange, only thing is that the farther you go from the original the more work is involved. If you could get pioneerguy to join up he could explain it. He has done a few.

Just curious. You said it would compare to a husky 353. I wonder about compared to a poulan pro 325. Which I have on the shelf. Anyone know off hand.

Stihl 028 Super 52cc 11.5 lbs  PHO  felt lighter then that lifting out of box  :o :o I would have guess in the 10.?? range

Poulan 325   53 cc  11.2 lbs  PHO  Picture 5000 plus with 46mm bore instead of 44mm and bigger carb. 325 has rpm and torque.

How about the Partner 5500? As far as I have read and checked specs, they seem to be the same saw.
Partner made the Poulan 325 and there was a type 1 closed port like I got and a type 2 open port on later runs of 325.

Is all 028 air filters the same?  Looks like the one on this super is down to the screen.

I went with 18" 3/8 and full skip round chisel.

Cut pretty dang nice in the softwoods I have on hand. Going to have to go to a friends to cut on some hardwoods he wants to drop.
